When talking about the programs putting it together, it doesn?t take long to mention back-to-back Big 12 champion Baylor. After picking up a pair of talented Houston area prospects and Waco area tight end Kedrick James on Wednesday, the Bears hit a grand slam Saturday afternoon, picking up a commitment from 2017 linebacker Baron Browning of Kennedale, Texas. {{more}}
 
Browning tweeted today ?It’s done! I’m officially a BAYLOR BEAR?
 
The 2017 Under Armour All-America Game selection chose Baylor over offers from many of the nations top programs, including Texas, Texas A&M, TCU, Ohio State, Oklahoma, UCLA, USC and Stanford, where his older brother Barry played.
 
Browning becomes the sixth verbal for the Bears in the 2017 class joining quarterback Kellen Mond, receivers Hezekiah Jones and Jhamon Ausbon, tight end James and safety Donovan Stiner.
 
The Bears got the commitment party started on Wednesday with 6-foot-3, 213-pound receiver Ausbon, who is a very good friend of Jones.
 
Less than two hours later, tight end James selected the Bears over offers from Texas A&M, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Miami and Michigan in what was a huge win very close to home in the Waco area.
