Brazosport hires Pintavalle

KISD District Principal Rita Pintavalle has accepted a position of principal at Brazoswood High School in the Brazosport Independent School District.
 
Brazosport ISD is 6A school district that encompasses 200 square miles along the gulf coast southwest of Galveston. It includes two high schools, three intermediate schools, two middle schools and eleven elementary schools. Brazoswood HS has approximately 2500 students. {{more}}
 
Pintavalle (Elrod) grew up in Kennedale (5th generation), graduating from KHS as salutatorian in 1986. She later returned to Kennedale in 1992 to teach English at Kennedale Junior High, later moving up to the high school to teach and coach the first girls? softball team for KHS. She left Kennedale to accept a teaching and girls athletic coordinator?s position in DeSoto ISD.
 
While working at DeSoto, she ran and was elected to the KISD Board of Trustees, serving for three years. She returned to Kennedale ISD in 2002 as an assistant principal at the high school and was promoted to high school principal in 2006. While at the high school, Pintavalle was selected as the TAASP High School Principal of the Year in Region 11.
 
This past year Pintavalle was moved to the district office to the position of KISD District Principal with responsibilities of discipline and discretionary grants. She also served this year as the President of the Texas Association of Secondary School Principals (TASSP), the largest association for principals in the nation. She is the first KISD principal to be elected to a statewide office.
 
Her daughter, Carson, a KHS graduate 2014 is attending Stephen F Austin.
 

Pintavalle will be starting her new job August 1.
