The City of Kennedale Planning Department with assistance from Friends of the Southwest Nature Preserve volunteers have join together to offer a Birding workshop this Saturday, October 18, 2015. {{more}}

 
Optional Classroom Instruction begins at 8:00 a.m. at City Hall Conference Room, 405 Municipal Drive in Kennedale.

Topics include:

  • Bird anatomy as it pertains to field identification
  • Types of birds common to this region in summer
  • Basic ecology, habitat associations, and behaviors

Birdwatching at Southwest Nature Preserve from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. at 5201 Bowman Springs Road in Arlington.

 
The group will visit the boardwalk at the South Pond and hike along one of the trails. The concrete trail leading to the boardwalk is handicapped accessible, but the other trails may involve steep climbing.
