The Kennedale Wildcats Varsity’s four first-inning runs built an early lead that helped bring home a 9-7 win over Lindale on Thursday at Castleberry in the North Texas Tournament of Champions.

Jake Michener was hot from the plate for the Kennedale Wildcats Varsity. Jake Michener went 2-3 and scored three runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the second inning. Jay Thomas got the win for the Kennedale Wildcats Varsity despite allowing seven runs over three innings. He struck out two, walked five and surrendered six hits. {{more}}

The top of the first saw Lindale take an early lead, 5-0. Lindale’s offense woke up as Dudley singled before Sitton homered, bringing home Dudley. Lindale then tacked on more runs when Bund scored on an RBI single by Misenheimel, Coomik scored on a sacrifice fly by Drawbond, and Misenheimel scored on an RBI double by Valdez.

After a quick strike from Lindale, the Kennedale Wildcats Varsity responded with two runs in the second. The Kennedale Wildcats Varsity scored on a passed ball and an RBI double by Austin Hunt.

The Kennedale Wildcats Varsity never trailed after scoring three runs in the third on an RBI double by Josh Taylor and a two-run single by Hayden Millis.
