the backstory ?

The Diamond Hill Jarvis Eagles are not known for football. Baseball and, in recent years, the soccer program has been their strength. The Eagles have a long history of playing football dating back to 1920. In the early years there were a number of district titles with the last one in 1954 during a 9-2 season. It has been a long drought since. In 1999 Diamond Hill had a break even season.

`This season they have scored 37 points and have been blanked in the last four games, all district games.

The Kennedale Wildcats are reaching several milestones. Kennedale is on the verge of their second undefeated regular season on the heels of last year?s first ever undefeated season. A win Friday night will extend the Wildcats regular season win streak to 25. A win will also cement Kennedale?s 4th straight outright district championship. The Cats won back to back championships in 1985 and 1986 under Head Coach Dan Yokeley. Then in 2001 and 2002 under Coach Barrett, the Cats were co-champions. The current championship began with the 2013 Cats team.

the game ?

The Wildcats? starters will begin the game but expect to see a lot of JV players on the field tonight. The Wildcat JV did not get to play this week since Diamond Hill Jarvis does not have a junior varsity team.

Game time is 7:30 p.m. but before the game, seniors and their families will honored in their last home game of their high school career. Come early to see the KHS Wildcat Seniors.

Win or lose tonight, the Wildcats will be going for their 15 bi-district title next week when they play the loser of the Dallas Carter/ Wilmer-Hutchins game tonight.
