It?s happening this weekend with something for everyone

There are several separate events this weekend happening in Kennedale and all are offering a good time for family and friends.? {{more: continue …}}

First, this is Homecoming Weekend at Kennedale High School with tailgate parties, alumni gatherings and of course the homecoming football game with a volleyball match featuring the Lady Kats who are looking to have one of the best school records.
?
Second, this is time for the annual 1st Methodist Church Lord?s Acre that is just as fun and relaxing as ever with food, games, auctions, and craft for friends and families. No admission charge.

Tailgate Party – The Kennedale Athletic Booster Club is promoting tailgating parties prior to the kick-off the Wildcat homecoming game against Fort Worth Western Hill High School. Businesses and other community organizations have been encouraged to come and set up their own table. There still maybe be space for these tables. Otherwise families and friends may come early with their own tailgating activities. Just a reminder this is an non-alcohol event. Weather is expected to be cooler (under 90) with a chance of rain.

Volleyball Match?5:45 PM -The Kennedale Lady Kats, currently with an overall record of 24 wins vs 7 losses and a district record of 5-0, will be hosting the Western Hills Lady Cougars (17-10, 1-4) with the varsity game time set for 5:45 p.m. in the Wildcat Gym at KHS. This young team plans to make waves in the UIL playoffs this year. Come see them play.

Football?7:30? PM – The Kennedale Wildcat football team at 2-3, 1-0 are looking for respect. This team was young and inexperienced coming into the season but is loaded with potential. Being a Coach Barrett team, the Cats are expected to go for their 8th straight district championship. Western Hills comes into the game with a similar record at 2-3 but lost their first district game last week. Similar to Kennedale, Western Hills has it own big playmakers and can score quickly. It should be an exciting game.

Homecoming Activities 7 PM through Halftime – Of course, homecoming activities including the crowding of the queen will be included with activity before the game and at homecoming for the Marching Wildcat Band, the Kennedale Alumni Association and Kennedale High School. Activities start at 7 p.m.

Game fans may purchase pre-sale tickets in the KHS AP Office from 7:15 am to 12:15 Friday (October 4, 2019). Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for children/students.

Lord’s Acres 10 AM to 3 PM – Fun begins with the annual Lord?s Acre Festival at the Kennedale First Methodist Church located at 229 W 4th Street in Kennedale. This a fun event for anyone member, non-member, family, singles, young and old. It starts at 10:00 a.m. and ends at 3 p.m. The Festival features a ?Fair Ground Food Court? compliments of the BSA Troop 35, a Live auction, a Chance auction, a Sweet Shop, Handmade Quilts along with rides and games at the Kids Korner.

KISD Alumni Gathering 5 PM – Annual Alumni Supper and ?get-together? is set to begin at 5 p.m. Saturday in the KHS Cafeteria. For Alumni members the cost is $10 but all others are free. It is potluck but more than one person has made a run by one of the local eating establishments and bought something to bring. It is time to visit and remember when. No reservations needed, just come.
