KHS Blake Bunnell gets a 6th place finish at State UIL Swim Meet

? ? ?KHS student Blake Bunnell swam in the 4A UIL state swim meet held on the campus of the University of Texas February 15th and 16th. He competed in two events and took 6th place in the 500 free-style and finished?15th in the 100 backstroke. {{more}}

? ? ?Bunnell had qualified for the state meet by winning the 500 free-style and coming in 2nd in the 100 backstroke at regionals held earlier in Mansfield. This was Blake?s second year to compete in the state swim meet in Austin.

? ? ?Blake, who is a sophomore at Kennedale High School, is the sole representative of KHS in UIL swim competition. Kennedale High School, via Bunnell, competes in District 8-4A. Although Kennedale is only a 3A school, there are no other 3A schools in the area with swim teams. To compete Blake and KHS are put in a district that includes Arlington Seguin, Burleson, Burleson Centennial, Cleburne, Crowley, Mansfield Lake Ridge, Mansfield Legacy and Mansfield Summit, all 4A teams.
