Notice has been given that on March 27, 2019, the Board of Trustees of the Kennedale Independent School District will hold a regular meeting at 7:00 PM at the Kennedale High School Media Center, 901 Wildcat Way, Kennedale, Texas. {{more: continue …}}

Meetings are open to the public and time is provided for ?Public Comments? before the board begins the action agenda. Those interested in speaking must sign-up prior to the start of the meeting and limit comments to 5 minutes. This is a time for the public to express concerns, board member cannot respond during this period.

Topics of interest ??

  • School Calendar – A final decision on the 2019-20 school calendar should be made. A decision was postponed last month over the possible use of a nine week grading period as opposed to the current six week grading period. A general outline of the calendar was approved last month with a start time next year of August 12, 2019 and an ending time of May 22, 2020. The first semester will end December 22 and the second semester will start Tuesday January 7, 2020.?
Superintendent Gee has been meeting with staff and interested community members to get their feedback. This will be shared with the Board Thursday evening.?
  • Proclamations – Two KISD Board Proclamations were listed at the time of posting both from James Arthur Intermediate for students and staff involved in the North Texas Future Cities competition held on January 26th at UTA.?
  • Resignations/Retirements – Nine resignations along with two retirements have been announced. No Board action is required. This time of the year and through the end of the year, a number of resignations will occur as staff relocates, returns to school or accept other employment either in or out of the education field. The two retirements were Diana Hansen from James Arthur and Denise Pederson from James Delaney. See list?
  • Hiring of personnel ? Hiring includes Jimmy C. Adams as Assistant Superintendent of Business & Finance (CFO) and the extension of contracts for current administrative personnel including central office and campus principals and assistant principals. See list?
  • Other items include campus reports by school principals, Tarrant County joint election contract and election information, financials and minutes from two prior meetings.?
