The Kennedale Police Department reported the following incidents for the two week period of April 1 – 15. {{more: CONTINUE …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded

Incident Reports April 2-7
 

4/3 ? Hit and Run Accident – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:35 a.m. an officer responded to a hit and run accident. A victim reported that his work truck had been struck by another vehicle backing into it. The suspect driver briefly spoke to the victim and then drove away. The accident was captured on security video from the business and the victim used his cell phone to photograph the license plate of the suspect?s truck.

4/4 – Credit/ Debit Card Abuse – Chateau Avenue: At 2:23 p.m. a victim reported that an ex-employee had used her debit card for an unauthorized purchase of several hundred dollars.

4/4 ? Theft Under $100 – Shady Creek Drive: At 7:00 p.m. an officer took a theft report for several stolen campaign signs. The signs were removed from the yards of political supporters of the candidate.

4/5 – Possession Control Substance PG 1 – I-20 E. Service Road: At 1:43 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The officer smelled the odor of burnt marijuana emanating from the vehicle. The male driver stated that he had been with someone earlier who was smoking marijuana but he had not done so. During the interview the driver was found to be in possession of several small bags of cocaine powder. The driver was arrested for the drugs and was transported to jail for booking. The contraband was entered into evidence.

4/5 ? Forgery, Fraudulent Use / Possession Identifying Items – Arthur Drive: At 2:50 p.m. officers responded to a report of a theft in progress. The suspect was located and taken into custody. The suspect was known to officers from a reported theft of mail incident in March. The suspect had several pieces of mail in his pants leg that belonged to the complaining person. The suspect was also in possession of a forged Texas ID card. The suspect was transported to jail for booking and the illegal items were entered into evidence.

4/6 ? Theft $100 to $750 – North Road: At 8:31 p.m. an officer responded to a theft report. A female victim reported that she was visited by a friend earlier in the day. The friend obtained the victim?s wallet from her purse and removed $300.00. The suspect left soon after.

4/8 – Burglary – Mansfield Cardinal Road: At 12:54 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered her unlocked residence while she was away and removed a TV and gaming system.

Incident Reports April 9-15

 
4/9 – Aggravated Robbery – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:57 p.m. officers responded to a report of an armed robbery at Burger King. A male suspect entered the store and asked for the manager. The suspect then displayed a firearm to the manager and demanded the money. After being given the money the suspect left the store in an unknown direction.

4/10 – Driving While Intoxicated – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:31 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The driver, a male, had been drinking and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. He was arrested for DWI and volunteered to give a blood sample. Medical staff at the jail drew the blood sample to be entered into evidence. The suspect, who has two prior DWI convictions, was booked in without incident.

4/10 – Burglary – Lake Wood Drive: At 6:37 p.m. officers responded to a burglary. The homeowners, who had been out of town, returned to find the front door forced open. Person(s) unknown had entered and removed a large jewelry box with jewelry. A family member had checked the home earlier that afternoon and it was secure.

4/15 – Driving While Intoxicated – N. Little School Road: At 12:44 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The female driver smelled of alcoholic beverage and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. She was arrested for DWI and refused to give a test sample. The female was transported to jail for booking. She has been convicted of DWI once before.

4/15 – Public Intoxication – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:51 a.m. an officer observed a female parked at a convenience store. The female was passed out in the front seat. Upon waking her up the officer determined that the female was intoxicated. A family member responded to take her home and the female was issued a citation for public intoxication.

4/15 – Driving While Intoxicated – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:39 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The female driver had been drinking and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. She was transported to jail where she gave a voluntary blood sample to medical staff. She was booked in without incident.

4/15 – Public Intoxication – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:30 p.m. officers responded to a theft in progress. A male had entered the QT and removed a case of beer without paying. The suspect was located across I-20 in Forest Hill. He was intoxicated and still had the case of beer with him. He was arrested for public intoxication and transported to jail for booking. The QT declined to prosecute due to getting the beer back.
