Season update ?

Kennedale traditionally plays ?up? in early season play, playing more 5A and 6A teams than teams in their classification of 4A. The record often reflects the tougher schedule. This year is also a transition year for the Lady Kats who are playing under new head coach Garrett Hilton. Hilton comes from Clear Brook High School in Clear Creek ISD.
At 4-8, Kennedale owns 2 wins over 4A Venus (3-7) by scores of 56-50 and 66-41 and has split wins over 4A Carrollton Ranchview (4-5) with a loss 55-45 and a win 77-65.
Playing above Class 4A, the Kats have recorded a win over 5A Carrollton Turner (0-5) by 58-31 while losing to 6A Coppell (4-4) 48-44, 5A Ennis (4-6) 45-35, 5A Red Oak (7-3) 53-44, 5A Mansfield Legacy (4-2) 81-44 and 5A Brewer (7-3) 61-54. Kennedale is coming off a 54-44 loss to 5A North Forney (6-3) on Tuesday night.
District preview ?
The Kats are currently unranked but are projected to win another district title this year according to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches. With realignment last year, Kennedale is now in District 9-4A along with FW Dunbar, Castleberry, FW Benbrook, FW Western Hills, Lake Worth and FW Diamond Hill. TABC has Dunbar in 2nd followed by Benbrook and Castleberry.

Kennedale will start district play on December 11 at home against Castleberry. The Lady Kats will take a break from district play to enter the annual Whataburger Tournament December 27-29.
