Both Kennedale and Andrews put runners aboard on Saturday, but it was Kennedale that was able to take advantage, pulling out a 4-1 win at Clyde. The Lady Kats took two straight from Andrews, winning the series and moves on to face Burkburnet in the regionals finals. Kennedale will play a one game playoff on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Jacksboro HS.

Andrews had five hits compared with the Lady Kats’ four, but Andrews stranded six runners on base.

Maegan Garza racked up three RBIs on one hit for the Lady Kats. She homered in the fourth inning.

Kaitlyn Leeds was a workhorse on the rubber while bagging the win for Kennedale. Leeds pitched seven innings and allowed one earned run, five hits and one walk while striking out four.

The Kats jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the top of the first. Kennedale got things going when Mackenzie Bay singled. A groundout by Allie Turner then moved Bay from first to third. Bay scored on a ground out by Elizabeth Schiele.

The lone run of the game for Andrews crossed the plate in the third inning.

The game’s last lead went to the Lady Kats thanks to a fourth inning rally that saw three runs cross the plate on a three-run home run by Maegan Garza.
