Kennedale closes the season with loss to Wylie

The Kennedale Wildcats baseball team finished the season on Saturday playing for the Area championship, losing to Abilene Wylie 6-1. Kennedale finished the year at 14-10-1 overall with a second place finish in District 7-4A with a record of 9-3. {{more}}
Just as in the first game played last night in Abilene, Wylie controlled the game with their pitching. Wylie?s Gist allowed one run over seven innings. He struck out nine, walked four and surrendered four hits.
Overall Wylie was held scoreless in 6 of 7 innings, but they won it in the 3rd when they scored 6 runs. Wylie?s Mueller, the same player who had pitched the no-hitter on Friday to defeat Kennedale, hit a 3-run homer in the inning.
For Kennedale, Austin Eggleston absorbed the loss with the 6 runs on 6 hits in the third. For the game, he allowed 8 hits with one strikeout and one walk in 5 1/3 innings. Steven Murchison finished the game allowing one hit and no runs.
The hits for Kennedale came from Jake Michener with a single in the 2nd and a double in the 3rd, Aaron Williams with a single in the 4th and a Stephen Murchison single in the 5th. Kennedale?s run came in the 5th on a on a sacrifice fly by Cody Bossaller scoring Murchison.
