The Kennedale Lady Kats have earned their 3rd district championship in the last three years. In the competitive world of Texas high school volleyball, that says a lot. {{more:Read more …}}
 
They kick of the playoff season tonight playing Midlothian Heritage in a bi-district game at Brewer High School. Game time is 7 p.m.
 
Overview:
 
This year’s Lady Kat volleyball team is a good team on the verge of being a really good team. They showed their potential this past Friday, when they held together to win the final two sets in 3-2 win over a talented Springtown team to earn the top seed from District 7-4A
 
To give you an idea about the strength of this team, you just need to look at the stats that individual players and the team have posted this year so far.
  • The Kats have two player ranked as top 100 players in the nation in one statistical category, with one ranked as #2 in the nation. This includes all high schools which submit stats to MaxPreps, regardless of size or location in the nation.
  • In Class 4A which is the division that Kennedale plays in Texas, the team ranks in the top 10 in all 6 statistical category in which stats are kept. The team is #1 in one stats, #2 in another and is no higher than #8 in all other statistical categories.
  • Individual players for Kennedale rank from the the top 25 in the state in Class 4A up to #1. Not only that, they have two of the top younger players in Class 4A.
This week Kennedale made the list as a dfwVarsity top 10 team to watch during the playoffs plus making the list of players to watch was Raeley Crosley (Jr) from Kennedale.
 
Also this week, freshman Lillian Rychilik was honored as Star Telegram Player of the Week.
