Spearman Graduates and Finishes Softball Career

This past weekend Morgan Spearman graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and completed her softball career at Angelo State University.

Standard Times of San Angelo stated,”There isn?t a Division II softball player in the country this year that has been better at getting on base than Angelo State senior Morgan Spearman.” {{more}}

Spearman received Lone Star Conference Player of the Year, Golden Glove for center field, All-LSC First Team, LSC Softball All-Academic Team, and Named to Daltronics South Central All-Region Team.

Spearman, the LSC Player of the Year, scored 80 runs this season setting the ASU and LSC single season record and it is the fifth most runs scored in a single season in NCAA Division II history. The senior hit .506 for the season with 19 doubles and 10 home runs. She drew 47 walks and stole 20 bases as well.

She is the NCAA Division II leader in on-base percentage at .622 which is also an ASU single season record. The Kennedale native finished her career as ASU’s career leader in on-base percentage (.522) and walks (126). It is the third-straight season Spearman has been named to the Daktronics Softball South Central All-Region team and second as an outfielder. Last season she earned first team honors at first base.
