Today is election day across the nation in what is referred to as the ?midterm elections or the elections that are held two years into a president?s 4 year term. {{more}}
 

Political pundits have been filling the internet and television airwaves ?24-7? since August with predictions and opinions on what effect this election will have on the future of America.

 
It can be an anxious time if you have spent that time listening to them forecast more gridlock, more chicanery, more this and more that. It can be enough to just say ?forget about it? or a more useful, colorful Texas phrase.
 
The best part is that you do not have to explain or answer to anyone.
 
Today though is your chance to go to the polling booth, shutting out all the noise and hubbub and vote. No one is there with you. No one knows how you will vote. It truly is your decision. And the best part about it, you do not have answer or explain anything to anyone. It is the American way, admired and copied around the world, although not always as successfully as in the United States.
 
If you are 18 or older and an American citizen, take your approved photo I.D. and vote ? polls open until 7 p.m. tonight.
