The Kennedale Wildcats and Palmer both had scoring chances on Saturday, but it was Kennedale that were able to capitalize on them as they pulled out a 5-3 win at Gunter.

Palmer had seven hits compared with the Wildcats’ five, but Palmer stranded five {{more}} runners on base.

Brett Taylor got the win for the Cats. He allowed three runs over five innings. Taylor struck out three, walked none and gave up six hits. ?He also helped himself with 2 RBIs on a double and a sacrifice.?

Kennedale was down 0-2 after 3 when the bats finally came alive. The hits started after the first batter, Zac Michener, walked. Brett Taylor hits a double sending Z?Michener across the plate. (Brett Hunt in as a courtesy runner for Taylor). Jay Thomas walked and Josh Taylor hit a sacrifice plating Brett Hunt. Austin Hunt successfully bunts to third. (Taylor Smith in for Austin Hunt as a courtesy runner). Chayce Coltharp slams a line drive double to left field bringing in Thomas. Aaron?Williams grounds out to second but Smith scores. The inning ended with a fly ball by Jake Michener but not before the Cats took the lead 4-2.

Kennedale scored one more run in the top of the 5th when Zac Michener bangs a triple to right field and Brett Taylor brings him home with a sacrifice.

Palmer tried to come back in the bottom of the 5th but could only manage one run. ?The run was the last for Palmer in the game.
