Kennedale Lady Kats and Wildcats Running to Austin, Both Teams Region Champs

Kennedale on the strengthen of its relay teams is headed to Austin for the state 3A track finals as the Region 1 Boys and Girls Track and Field Champion. Both the women and men 4x100m and 4x200m relay teams won their races. Since relay teams earn double points, Kennedale was the odds on favorite to win the meet. {{more}}

On the Lady Kats 4×100 and 4×200 winning relay teams were Toni O?Neal, Hailey Patterson, DeDe Powell and Chianne Lowe. The 4×100 relay won with a 46.66. The 4×200 relay time was 1:40.38. The 4×400 relay team was Maiya Burgess, Autumn Ray, Shaderricka Lee?and Toni O?Neal with a third place time of 4:01.22.

The Wildcat 4×100 team of Juwan Washington, LJ Powell, Donnie Darville?and Patrick Lovings won with a time of 42.17. The 4×200 relay team members were Donnie Darville, Sterling Dickens, Patrick Lovings and Juwan Washington with a winning time of 1:27.85.

The Kennedale Lady Kats added points with a 1st place win by Chianne Lowe in the 100m (12.18), 3rd place Hailey Patterson (25.10) in the 200m , 5th place in the 200m by De?Andrea Powell (25.67), 3rd place finish in the 4x400m relay, and a 4th place by Hailey Patterson in the long jump (16-11.00). The Lady Kats finished with 74 points followed by Lubbock Estacado and Stephenville.

For the Wildcats it took a 2nd place finish by Fred Scott (52-08.75) to assure the Cats a title. Kennedale finished with 48 points followed by Andrews with 45 points and Big Springs with 42 points.

Hailey Patterson competed in four events and placed in four.

Other members of the Kennedale Region Champions were Shelby Flowers (high jump and 300m hurdles), ShaDerricka Lee (800m), Kalia Spann (100m), and Price O?Brien (400m).
