The Kennedale Lady Kats Basketball team sent out a challenge to the rest of the district in their Friday night 71-35 win over Springtown in Springtown.

This was the start of district play in 6-3A. Last year Kennedale swept through the district without a defeat. That team went on to play in the state finals, losing to Mexia 69-62. {{more}}

This team is younger and less experience than last year, but they have proved their metal and heart against 4A and 5A teams. The Lady Kats while sporting a 7-9 record are predicted to win the district once again and move into their usual spot in the playoffs.
 
Kennedale dominated every quarter last night beginning with a 22-8 first. The Kats moved on to a 45-15 halftime lead and never looked back. Leading all scorers was McKinley Bostad with 27 followed by Jasmyn Poe with 21. Other Lady Kats scoring were Kathryn Mosely 9, Sadie Mahnesmith 6, Anna Lamas 4, Brenee Ellis 2 and Dajia Simmons 2
.

The Lady Kats play again on Tuesday, December 7 at Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis beginning at 7:30 p.m.
