The Outdoor Education program at KHS, headed up by KHS teacher Danny Wilcox continues to find ways to generate interest in the outdoors. One of these is the KISD Archery program

This year Kennedale Archery will sponsor/host three separate events, a first for Kennedale High School.

First Responders/KHS Key Club Archery Fun Tournament ?
?
The first event is coming up December 1st at Kennedale Junior High from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm. It is a local law enforcement/first responder/Kennedale Archery/KHS Key Club 10 meter archery fun tournament fundraiser.
?
The event will pair up a local law enforcement officer with a KISD archer in a friendly 10 meter only tournament. The goal is to raise funds for the Garrett Hull Memorial Scholarship Tournament happening in February.
?
Visitors are welcome and encouraged to attend and see the kids in action. No cost at the door but donations will gladly be accepted.
?
Appreciation goes to the Hull and Aten families for allowing us to honor Corporal Hull in what will soon to be the annual Garrett Hull Memorial Scholarship Tournament.

Garrett Hull Memorial Scholarship Tournament ?

The second event is February 22 & 23, 2019 and it is the first Garrett Hull Memorial Scholarship Tournament. The goal is have funds ($2,000) enough to award scholarships at this memorial event.

KHS Archery will be host to school teams from across the state. Table/booth rentals are available to local businesses for both this tournament at $100/table. A large turnout is expected with parents, students and visitor attending the two day event. It offers businesses and/or organization a way to support a worthy cause and advertise their wares and services.

Texas Two Step Archery Tournament ?
?
The third big event for Kennedale is the Texas Two Step Archery Tournament co-hosted by Kennedale Archery and Arlington ISD Archery. The Willow Bend Hunt Club is the tournament sponsor, providing $1,000 scholarships to the top male and female high school archers in a first ever combined scoring format.

Archers and teams will compete in two tourneys on Jan. 18th and 19th.? One tourney will be at Kennedale Junior High and the other at the Arlington ISD Archery Facility. There are currently 12 school districts and approximately 580 kids in the process of registering. With plenty of time left, the Texas Two Step will likely near the 1,000 archer mark.?

Teams have already committed from Kennedale, all Arlington high schools, Allen ISD, Mabank ISD, Kaufman ISD, Keller HS, St. Martin De Porres Catholic School, Prosper ISD, Ronald Reagan Junior High in Grand Prairie, and Madill, Oklahoma.

Table/booth rentals are available to local businesses for this event at a cost of $100 for booth/table. Contact Tournament Director Danny Wilcox at [email protected]?or call KHS 817-563-8100 if you are interested in sponsoring a table at either or both tournaments.

Spectator prices will be $5 each, $8 per couple, $10 per family. This will cover attendance at both sites.
