Parents often have as much invested in these activities as their offspring. So, what is the latest?

Prom ?
?
KHS Principal Michael Cagle has announced that prom and graduation are still on the schedule along with a hope and a prayer. A final decision on the senior prom has not been made but preparation is still going on for the event. It is still scheduled for May 9, 2020 at Texas Rangers? Globe Life Field. The Ranger organization has offered to reschedule if possible or allow a cancellation without penalty. Tickets for the event are not on sale at this time.

Graduation ?

Graduation is scheduled for May 22, 2020 at UTA College Park Center. Cagle did announce that there is a back-up date set for June 20, 2020 also at UTA. Whatever happens the seniors will still graduate and receive their diplomas this year in some form or fashion.

UIL activities ?
?
UIL still has May 4, 2020 target date for spring sports and maybe the completion of the UIL state basketball tournament. Last week a video message was posted reaffirming that the organization was still working for a reboot of these activities.

Charles Briethaupt, Executive Director of the Texas University Scholastic League (UIL), in a video posted March 26 said, ?Our staff is working around the clock to do all they can to make these activities alive again and as soon as schools can resume we continue the UIL activities for the 2020 school year.?

Up in the air for most states …?

Many states are still hoping to salvage at least some of the season for sports such as track and field, softball, baseball and others. A few like Oklahoma and Kansas have thrown in the towel ended all sports for the year. But other states from New York to California including Ohio, Texas, Arkansas, Colorado, Georgia, Iowa, Michigan, Mississippi, Oregon, Nebraska, Tennessee and Utah have set actual dates for resumption. Others like Arizona, Florida, New Mexico and Nevada have simply said that all sports suspended or postponed until further notice.
