Wildcats sink Alvarado 61-39 to go 3-0 in district

The #14 Kennedale Wildcats (21-6, 3-0) traveled down I-35 to Alvarado last Friday to play the Indians in a match-up up #1 vs #3 in District 7-4A. {{more}}
 
Kennedale took a 19-12 lead in Q1 with VJ Hughes sinking two out beyond the line and one close in to get 8 and Colton Otts added 4 more to lead the Wildcat scoring.
 
In the Q2, Kennedale padded the score and again it was Hughes leading the way with 11 of the 20 points scored in the quarter. Kennedale lead by 20 at halftime 39-19.
 
The Wildcats took their 3rd straight district game, 61-39 and are in sole possession of first place.
 
Leading the way for Kennedale was VJ Hughes, hitting five baskets outside the arc and getting 22 points for the game. Other Cats scoring were Darious Hammond 7, Blake Ingram 8, T.J. Davis 2, Nick Autrey 2, Dominque Doss 2, Colton Otts 6, Kole Hohenberger 4, Aaron Chavez 1 and Quardraiz Wadley 7.
 
After a break in the schedule last Tuesday, the Wildcats will continue district play by wrapping up first round action at Venus on Friday night. The LadyKats and the Wildcats will both be playing.
 
The Varsity LadyKats will play at 6:30 p.m. and the Varsity Wildcats will play at 8 p.m. Venus is currently tied with Alvarado for third place in District 7-4A.
