Playing in Graham, the Kennedale LadyKats gained an 1-0 advantage in a best of three playoff series with a 7-1 win over the Lady Steers Friday night.
 
Kennedale (18-2) now adds the home field advantage as the Steers (11-9) will have to travel to Kennedale to play. Game time for game #2 is scheduled for 1 p.m. with game #3 following if needed. {{more}}
 

Allie Thornton got the win allowing one run on 5 hits, striking out 8 with one walk. For the game Turner threw 70 strikes in 90 pitches with 10 ground/fly outs.

 
Kennedale broke open the scoreless game with a 5 run fifth getting two doubles (Jamie Franks and Alexa Niefert), two singles (Elizabeth Schiele and Jazyln Crowder) and a fielder?s choice by Rebekah Abair.
 
The LadyKats added two more runs in the fifth off a double by Abair and a single by Ashley McElvaney.
