This is not news to the students and faculty at Kennedale Junior High or those at the high school. Last spring, Kennedale High Principal Justin Marchel announced that he would be retiring at the end of the school year after a 35 year career in education with the last three as the KHS principal.

The KISD administration acted quickly and after reviewing current staff members, decided to fill the position in house by moving Cagle from the junior high principal position to fill the high school opening. In turn, Bel Williams who has been serving as an assistant principal at the high school was moved into the principal position at the junior high.

They both spent the last several weeks of the school year visiting with students and staff at their prospective campuses and have been on their new campus since school ended in May.

This week KJHS Principal Bel Williams has released a brief statement about herself and her aspirations for KJHS.

“I am beyond excited to serve as the Principal at Kennedale Junior High school. I am grateful to be a part of such an outstanding team of teachers, staff, and students. It has been a lifelong dream of mine to positively inspire, motivate, and guide our future leaders of tomorrow. My goal is to ensure that I provide a challenging, fun, safe, and positive learning environment for the students at KJHS.”

“Along with loving my job as a school principal, I am also the proud mother of four boys: Jalen, Micah, Jordan, and Clark. My husband, Paul Williams, also serves in the education community of Arlington ISD as a teacher and coach. Prior to becoming a principal, I served as the Assistant Principal at Kennedale High School and Brewer High School in White Settlement ISD. I started my journey into education as an English teacher in Bossier Parish (Louisiana) and Mansfield ISD. I enjoy reading, writing, going on family vacations, attending my kids’ sporting events, and exercising. I am a strong believer in the idea that it takes a village to raise a child. I trust that the teachers and staff at KJHS will ensure that your child has the most rewarding learning experience.”

“Thank you for trusting me with your children each and every day. I’m looking forward to a phenomenal school year!”
