When God Speaks

Hebrews 1:1-2 NLT

Long ago God spoke many times and in many ways to our ancestors through the prophets. And now in these final days, he has spoken to us through his Son. God promised everything to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe.

God has always been speaking to His people. The issue is not if He does speak but if we can discern His Voice and listen to Him when He speaks.

God speaks in moments of hopelessness, fear, frustration, hurt, uncertainty etc. He speaks when a situation looks irreversible and impossible (See Ezekiel 37). Whatever your situation may be, God can, and will speak to it.

When God speaks, things happen. Everything God created in the beginning, He spoke them into existence (Genesis 1, 2). When God speaks, He is determined to see His words come to fruition (Isaiah 55:10, 11). He makes our human wisdom worthless because He speaks wisdom that supersedes any human wisdom.

When God speaks, He at times speaks through His creation. He speaks through His preferred persons, animals, and circumstances. When God speaks, we can expect our mountains to move (Mark 11:23).

When God speaks,

  • chains and shackles break
  • captives are set free
  • there is deliverance
  • there is rejoicing
  • there are healings and miracles
  • there are breakthroughs and victories
  • there will be provisions of things needed
  • Etc.

Expect God to speak to you and to your circumstances. Be eager to hear his loving words of joy and hope; anticipate his mercy and forgiveness; and expect the freedom that He offers.

God speaks, and when He speaks expect a performance of His word in your life.

Selah!

Prayer:

Father, I know you are constantly speaking to me and to the situations in my life, family, ministry, business, work etc. Please help me each day to discern your voice in the midst of many voices. Help me to listen and to believe every word You speak by faith. Let there be a performance of your word in my life that the world may know that You are alive and still speaks. I ask in Jesus name. Amen!
