The Kennedale Wildcats coming off a 26-7, 8-2 season in 2021-22, have started well at 2-0.

Brock vs Wildcats …

Last week the Cats downed 3A Brock (1-1) at home 79-69. Brock, long a basketball power in their division, was 31-9, 14-1 last year making it to the regional’s finals of the state playoffs.

Leading the Wildcats was #12 Austin Pickett (Sr) with 21 points. It was notable that the Wildcats did set a school record when they went 20/20 from the free throw lines.

Ranchview vs Wildcats …

This past Tuesday night, the Wildcats traveled to Carrolton Ranchview and came away with their second win of the young season, 63-45. The Ranchview Wolves had an earlier win over the Venus Bulldogs, 66-42. The Wolves finished 13-19 last year.
Kennedale led the game the whole way. It was 20- 9 after Q1. At halftime, it was 35-20 before the game-ending buzzer at 63-45.

Up next game on Saturday …

5A Granbury (2-0) comes to KHS on Saturday, November 19, 2022, with the varsity set to play at 4 pm. Granbury’s two wins came against 5A Cleburne, 48-43, and 5A Joshua 63-35. The Cats did play Granbury last year for a win by a point, 56-55.

The Wildcats after a day of rest are back on the road to face another 5A team, Frisco Lebanon Trail (1-1). The varsity game is set for 6:15 pm on Monday, November 21.
