was born on January 12, 1928 in Athens, Texas to Albert Lee Stone and Bessie B Boyd

in their home out in the country. She passed away Tuesday, December 12, 2017 in Stephenville, Texas.?{{more: continue …}}

She was the youngest of 5 children. She had two sisters, Della Gotthardt of Portland, Oregon and Verna B. Ballard of Fort Worth.

She had 2 brothers, Herman Stone of Cleburne and John D. Stone of El Paso

which had all preceded her in death.

Frances was united in marriage to Jackson

M Hill in Fort Worth TX on May 10, 1947. They were married for 47 years and 1

day when he went to be with the Lord. With this union, they had 2 daughters,

Linda Nell Jones of Dublin Tx March 2, 1949 and Sherry Diane Layne of Kennedale

May 4, 1956 who preceded her in death.

Frances started life out picking

cotton before and after school with the family. When she left school at the age

of 15 she began working at the movie house downtown Fort Worth. Frances then

went to work for Montgomery Wards on West 7th Street until 1962 when she began her career Kennedale ISD

serving many children for 40 years. She became the supervisor after 18 years.

She retired in May of 2002 to stay home and take care of her grandson.

Her life

ended after two strokes took her on December 12, 2017.

She is survived by

one daughter, Linda Nell Jones of Dublin, Texas and preceded in death by son- in-law Freddie Jones; two granddaughters, Deanna Turley and husband Darren of

Dublin, Cindy Ferguson and husband Junior of Lipan; three grandsons Lee

Jones of Dublin, Robbie Layne of Kennedale and Tim Layne and

Brenna of Dallas.

She had five great grandchildren, Jaclyn and Madison

Turley of Dublin, Brayden Jones, Lance and Lacee Ferguson all of Lipan. One great great granddaughter, Layla Ferguson of Lipan. She is also

survived for one brother-in-law, Lewis Hill of Longview and one sister-in-law Cathy Hill of Millsap. She is also survived by many nieces and

nephews on both sides of the family and many friends.

Frances enjoyed

life to the fullest being a Christian and member of Covenant Life Baptist of

Kennedale Texas. She enjoyed working in the Kennedale lunchrooms feeding 1000s

of children, going camping, crafts, spending time with family and friends. She

enjoyed watching football on the 50 yard line of the Kennedale Wildcats no

matter the weather. She loved playing phase 10 with her friends daily, eating

out, going to the movies, traveling the US and anything involving the

grandkids. She looked forward to every summer attending all 57 Hill reunions to

catch up with family with laughs and lots of food. She always had room for 1

more in her home. She never met a stranger and was the leader of our ?talking

family?. She always did for others no matter what. With God on her side, she

always helped others.?

Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2017 at Emerald Hills Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Adams officiating and interment will follow at Emerald Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be Saturday, December 16, 2017 at 9:00AM at Emerald Hills Funeral Home.

The following was added by the Kennedale News after visiting with the family.

Frances and her husband, Jack, moved to Kennedale in the early 1960?s with their two young daughters, Linda and Diane. Frances worked for Montgomery Ward on 7th Street at the time but quit that job and took a job with the Kennedale ISD working in the cafeteria to be closer to her children and her home.
?
That began a lifelong relationship with KISD that was to last 40 years. She worked under Mrs. Harvey, who was the lunchroom supervisor at the time, and then took over that position when Mrs. Harvey retired.
?
Her work ethic was legendary and her devotion to her job and to her ?kids? that came through the lunch line was never questioned. No child was ever turned away hungry. She was respected and loved by her staff. Her ?lunch ladies? Christmas parties will always be remembered.

She was active in the schools as her children and grandchildren (Robbie and Tim Layne) went through and graduated. She was especially proud of being one of the original band ?moms?. She said that as her daughters went through the band program, all the band kids just called her Mom. Even up to just recently, she never missed a home football game if she could help it.

She was a lifelong church member and active in her community. Over the years baking thousands of cookies and cakes for various city and church activities.
?
She will be missed by many especially by her family including grand kids, great-grand kids and all the rest.
