of Kennedale has posted a new job opening for Communications Coordinator.
The job posting was the result of the departure of Amethyst Sloane who left recently for a position with the City of Fort Worth. Sloane job title had been City Secretary and Communications Coordinator. {{more}}
The new job posting incorporates those responsibilities into one job title of Communications Coordinator for the City of Kennedale.
The overall responsibility of the Coordinator?s position who reports directly to the City Manager is to ?promote positive public relations within the community ? by engaging the residents in various city activities, advisory board roles and events.?
Specifics include being the city contact for the media; maintaining city website information including, the city newsletter and other social media; being the staff contact for the Senior Citizens Center and Youth Advisory Council; overseeing the the city secretary?s office; and having budget management duties. The position has one assistant.
The job requires a college degree in communications, journalism, or related field plus two years? experience in public relations, media relations and crisis communication.
