Intoxication and burglary led the list for reports made by Kennedaled Police Officers during the third week of August. {{more:Read more …}}
 
These reports were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

Incident Reports

8/14 – Public Intoxication – 1200 block W. Kennedale Parkway: At 12:20 a.m. officers responded to a report of a reckless driver. Officers found the vehicle parked in a business in the 1200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway. The vehicle was parked across several spaces and a male was attempting to open the driver side door. The male appeared to be intoxicated and was arrested. He was transported to jail for booking. The vehicle, which contained an open can of beer as well as several unopened cans, was impounded for safe keeping.
 
8/14 – Driving While Intoxicated – 7300 block E. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:15 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding and failing to maintain a single traffic lane. The driver appeared to be intoxicated and was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety test. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The driver refused to submit to a breath test and a warrant was secured for a mandatory blood draw. The blood sample was obtained by jail medical staff pursuant to the warrant.
 
8/15 – Burglary of Vehicle – 4000 block S. Eden Road: At 11:33 a.m. a victim reported that his truck was burglarized at his workplace. A suspect was observed on surveillance camera parking a gray Ford truck behind the victim?s vehicle and walking to the truck just out of the camera angle. The suspect re-entered the Ford and left. The victim?s vehicle was forced open on the driver side door and a 9mm handgun was taken from the console.
 
8/15 – Assault by Contact – Spring Branch Lane: At 12:52 p.m. officers responded to an assault. A female resident stated that she heard a knock at her front door. When she opened the door it was a former female roommate. The suspect forced her way in and began to assault the female resident in the living room. When another female resident tried to stop the assault, another female with the suspect entered the room and began assaulting the second victim. The first suspect then went to a bedroom to recover some personal items and left. Both suspects, as well as two males who were with them, had left before officers arrived.
 
8/17 – Burglary – 300 block S. New Hope Road: At 7:00 a.m. a complainant reported that three of his employer?s construction trailers were forced open during the overnight hours. The trailers were parked at a construction site. The suspect(s) caused several hundred dollars in damage and removed a $5,000.00 generator.
 
8/17 ? Theft $750 to $2500 – 4000 block S. Eden Road: At 9:51 a.m. a victim reported that a suspect entered his business after hours and removed four vehicle rims valued at $1,200.00. The business was closed but the gate was left open for trucks entering the location. The male suspect, his vehicle, and the theft act were captured on video.
 
8/12 – Burglary – 100 block Industrial Drive: At 3:44 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown had entered his property and removed $4,018.00 in welding equipment. Entry to the storage yard was made by cutting a security chain on the gate.

8/18 – Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 – 1200 block N. Little School Road: At 9:17 a.m. a business owner reported damage to the front door lock of his business. Person(s) unknown placed some type of hardened substance into the lock, rendering it useless.

 
8/18 – Death Investigation – Cydnie Street: At 8:10 a.m. officers responded to a death investigation. A 72 year old male was discovered deceased in bed. The victim was under a doctor?s care and the doctor was contacted. After consulting with the medical examiner?s office, the victim was released to the family for a funeral home to pick up. No evidence of foul play was observed.
 
8/18 – Possession Drug Paraphernalia – Greenfield Court: At 3:55 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The officer smelled the odor of marijuana emanating from the vehicle interior. The female driver admitted to possessing drug paraphernalia, which was located in the car. She was cited and released.
 
8/18 – Burglary – 700 block W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:07 p.m. an officer observed a prohibited vehicle on a business property. The vehicle had previously been driven by an assault suspect who was given a trespass warning to not come back. The vehicle was there but the suspect was not. The victim, who is the business owner, stated that the suspect (her ex-husband) had sent his son to the business earlier in the week. The son, who is an adult, illegally entered the business and took the victim?s purse. He emptied the contents out into his vehicle and returned the purse with only a paper plate in it. Curse words were written in Spanish on the paper plate. A report for the burglary was made as the suspect is identifiable and related to the assault suspect.
 
8/19 ? Possession of Controlled Substance – 1200 block W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:53 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle parked at an open business with a sleeping male in the driver?s seat. The officer was able to wake the male up to conduct an interview about why he was asleep at an open business. During the interview the officer obtained consent to search the vehicle. The vehicle was found to contain methamphetamine and related paraphernalia. The male was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The contraband was placed in evidence.
 
8/19 ? Theft $2,500 to $30,000 – 200 block E. Kennedale Parkway: At 11:02 a.m. a victim reported the theft of his vehicle from a repair shop. The vehicle was a Dodge Ram 3500 truck valued at $10,000.00. Arlington police located the vehicle in their city at 12:51 p.m. and it was recovered for the owner.
 
8/20 – Driving While Intoxicated – 1200 block Bowman Springs Road: At 2:10 a.m. officers responded to a vehicle stopped in the roadway. A female had been driving the vehicle erratically when a male passenger tried to get her to stop. When she refused, the passenger placed his foot on the brake to force her to stop. The female appeared intoxicated and could not successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. The female was arrested and transported to jail, where she provided a breath sample. The breath sample confirmed the intoxication. The suspect has two prior DWI convictions already.
