The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 15 incidents for the one week period July 15 through July 21, 2018. The reports included vehicle burglary, evading arrest, unlawful carry, assault on police officer, assault by contact and forgery. {{more: continue …}}

7/15 ? Vehicle Burglary – Winterwood Drive: At 1:40 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown removed the rear license plate from his 2013 Ford truck. The vehicle was parked in the driveway and the theft took place during the overnight hours.

7/16 – Burglary – Valley Lane: At 9:41 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) cut a gate lock and entered into his property. A metal overhead door was cut open and a flatbed trailer was removed from the building. The trailer was valued at $500.00.

7/16 – Assault by Contact – Woodland Court: At 8:09 p.m. an adult female victim reported to police that she had gotten into an argument with her adult son earlier in the day. The son became angry and caused damage to the residence before shoving the victim and leaving with friends. The suspect will be charged at a later date when he returns home.

7/16 – Forgery Financial Instrument – W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:27 p.m. an officer responded to a theft in progress. An adult male suspect was attempting to pass a forged check for several thousand dollars. During the interview with bank personnel and the suspect it was determined that the suspect had forged the checks. He was arrested for the forgery as well as outstanding warrants from Fort Worth. The suspect was transported to jail for booking.

7/17 – Evading Arrest or Detention – Alhambra Drive: At 4:02 a.m. officers were notified of a stolen vehicle from Mansfield that could be travelling through Kennedale. It was later determined through OnStar that the vehicle was parked in Forest Hill close to I-20. A Kennedale officer and two Forest Hill officers approached the vehicle, which had been hooked up to the back of a wrecker. Two males observed the officers? arrival and fled the tow truck on foot. After a short foot chase the driver was taken into custody. The second suspect escaped but was identified. The vehicle was recovered and the suspect transported to jail for booking.

7/17 – Abandon/ Found Property – 3rd Street: At 8:00 a.m. an officer was advised of a possible narcotic in the street. The officer went to the location and found a baggie of methamphetamine in the street. The narcotic was placed in evidence.

7/17 – Possession Control Substance – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 8:33 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for traffic violations. The adult female driver did not have a valid driver?s license in possession. During the interview the officer smelled the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A grinder was located in the rear seat area. Also located in the vehicle were number of amphetamine pills as well as methamphetamine in crystalized form. The female was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The narcotics were placed in evidence.

7/18 – Theft $2,500 to $30,000 – Grapevine Trail: At 11:40 a.m. a victim reported that a company vehicle, a 2001 Ford pickup, was stolen from the property at 1:09 a.m. that morning. The theft was captured on security video, which was made available to investigators.

7/18 – Application for Mental Detention & Observation – At 2:05 p.m. officers responded to an emotionally disturbed female at a residence. The female, who was a guest of the resident, was speaking incoherently and stating that she wanted to die. The female was detained and transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental evaluation.

7/19 – Application for Mental Detention & Observation – At 11:02 p.m. officers responded to an emotionally disturbed female. The female, known to officers from numerous previous contacts, has mental health issues and is supposed to take medication for them. The female had not been taking her medication and was speaking erratically as well as hallucinating. She was taken into custody and transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental evaluation.

7/19 – Driving While Intoxicated – E. Kennedale Parkway: At 1:20 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for driving without headlights at night. The driver, an adult male, appeared to have been drinking heavily. The driver could not successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and he was arrested for DWI. A warrant was obtained for a blood draw on the suspect. The suspect was booked into jail.

7/19 – Assault on a Public Servant – Pennsylvania Avenue: At 9:33 a.m. an officer responded to a suspicious male attempting to enter a locked home. The homeowner was present in the residence and did not know who the male was. The officer arrived on scene and attempted to detain the suspect until other officers arrived. The suspect struck the officer in the face with his fist at which point the officer took the suspect to the ground for handcuffing. The suspect, who lives in a nearby home, was arrested and transported to jail for booking.

7/20 – Incident – Kennedale Sublett Road: At 6:38 p.m. an officer observed a male that had been riding a bicycle was passed out in the street. The male was breathing but unconscious. He was transported to JPS Hospital by Arlington EMS.

7/21 – Unlawful Carrying Weapon – 7200 block of E. IH 20: At 12:14 a.m. an officer observed a stopped vehicle on the service road. As he approached the vehicle, the officer observed a ?Bong? style pipe, with marijuana residue, sitting on the console. The driver was also in possession of a loaded Glock 9mm handgun. He was arrested for the weapon and the marijuana. The driver was transported to jail for booking.

7/21 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 3:17 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. An adult female victim reported that her boyfriend had assaulted her. The victim stated that the boyfriend came home intoxicated and went to his bedroom. During an argument that ensued the male suspect became angry and struck the victim in the head numerous times. The suspect was interviewed but did not admit to the assault. The victim did have injuries consistent with her story. The suspect was arrested for the assault and identified himself to the officer verbally. The victim later told the officer that the suspect gave a false name as he is in the country illegally. The victim gave the suspect?s proper name to the officer. His identity will be confirmed through fingerprints by jail staff.
