The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 12 incidents for the one week period June 23, 2019 through June 29, 2019. The reports included burglary, assault, possession, animal bite and unlawful carry. {{more: continue ?}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

6/23? Possession Control Substance – W. Kennedale Parkway. At 3:27 a.m. an officer observed a vehicle pull into the property of a closed business. Upon stopping to ascertain if all was okay, a male was observed outside of the vehicle, a green Kia. The officer observed an open bottle of vodka in the center console. Both the driver and his female passenger were under 21 years of age and could not possess an alcoholic beverage. Upon further interview, the officer determined that the occupants were in possession of THC oil for a vape pen as well as marijuana. They were placed under arrest for the narcotics and transported to jail for booking. The contraband was placed in evidence.
6/23? Possession Marijuana – E. Kennedale Parkway.? At 5:42 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The vehicle was occupied by an adult male driver. The driver was discovered to have multiple warrants for his arrest out of multiple cities. During the arrest, the driver was also found to be in possession of a bag of marijuana and a pipe used to smoke it. The contraband was seized for evidence and the driver was transported to jail for booking.
6/23? Assault by Contact. North Road. At 6:42 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A male resident reported that his girlfriend?s ex-boyfriend (suspect) had arrived at the residence unannounced to see his child. After being told to leave by the girlfriend?s mother, the suspect attempted to start an altercation with the male resident. During the altercation, the suspect used his finger to ?thump? the girlfriend (his ex) in the forehead. When told that police had been called, the suspect left before officers arrived.
6/24? Animal Bite – Reeves Lane. At 3:18 p.m. an officer responded to a report of a dog bite. An adult female victim reported that a dog had come onto her property and had bitten her multiple times when she tried to get it to leave. The animal was taken to the animal shelter for impound and quarantine.
6/25? Application for Mental Detention and Observation – North Road. At 8:21 p.m. officers responded to a report of an adult male acting erratically and making threats to his neighbors. On arrival, the male was located and identified from previous contacts for similar complaints. The male was taken into custody for an emergency mental detention and evaluation. He was transported to JPS Hospital.
6/26? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) At 1:12 a.m. officers responded to an assault complaint. An adult male reported that his ex-girlfriend had entered his residence uninvited and had assaulted him while he was in bed asleep. The female had left the area just before officers arrived.
6/24? Burglary – E. Kennedale Parkway At 12:10 p.m. a victim reported that an unknown male suspect had entered a storage building on company property and removed an air compressor and drill. The offense occurred during the weekend when the business was closed.
6/28? Unlawful Carrying Weapon? – W. Poly Webb Road At 2:17 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. The adult driver of the vehicle was the sole occupant. During the stop and interview, the officer determined that the male had marijuana as well as a handgun in the vehicle. The male was taken into custody and transported to jail for booking. The contraband was placed in evidence.
6/28? Theft $750 to $2,500 -? Wildcat Way At 10:12 p.m. an officer received a report of a stolen iPhone. The victim reported that he left the phone in a backpack sitting on the floor of the high school gym while he was involved in a basketball program. An unknown person removed the phone from the backpack. The phone was tracked via a locator app to an address in Arlington. The victim was referred to the Arlington police for further action.
6/28? Burglary of Vehicle – W. Kennedale Parkway At 12:04 p.m. a victim reported that his vehicle was illegally entered by an unknown person(s). Suspect(s) removed an in-dash radio and speakers as well as a bag with assorted tools. There was no evidence of forced entry. The vehicle was parked at the rear of a business.
6/29? Assault by Contact – At 5:26 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. While responding to the call dispatch advised that a male at the location had hung himself in the back yard. On arrival, officers found an unresponsive adult male in the back yard. The male was revived by paramedics and was transported to JPS Hospital for medical treatment as well as an emergency mental detention and evaluation. The female victim at the residence reported that the male had assaulted her before trying to hang himself. The victim displayed injuries consistent with the report. The male was also charged with family violence assault.
