For many, 2018 has not always been a good year, or it has been filled with ups and downs. As we observe the last week of this year, we are happy to cry to the Lord, “I Want Out of Here”.?

Some are truly ready to leave this year behind. Jonah was in this situation.?
?
He prayed to the Lord,
?

“Then I said, ?I am driven away from your sight; how shall I look again

upon your holy temple?? The waters closed in over me;

the deep surrounded me; weeds were wrapped around my head

at the roots of the mountains. I went down to the land

whose bars closed upon me forever; yet you brought up my life from the Pit, O Lord my God. As my life was ebbing away,

I remembered the Lord; and my prayer came to you,

into your holy temple. Those who worship vain idols

forsake their true loyalty. But I with the voice of thanksgiving

will sacrifice to you; what I have vowed I will pay.

Deliverance belongs to the Lord!? (Jonah 2: 4-9)

God looks at our lives and will deliver us from situations we’ve been involved. The only way to be delivered is through prayer. That’s what Jonah did, he prayed. Prayer changes things, but persistent changes everything. When God hears your persistent prayers He can take you from pain, heartache, drama, struggle and trouble. Persistent prayer will change the context of your situation from something that is trying to destroy you to something that will develop you, groom you, grow you and perfect you.

See you on Sunday as we continue this lesson from Jonah.
