Hey Everyone,

I hope that you are having a wonderful summer. I wanted to let my Kennedale Band Family know as soon as possible about a change that I am making. It is definitely with a heavy heart, but I will not be returning to Kennedale next year. I have been offered a job as the Director of Bands at Lorenzo de Zavala Middle School in Irving. It is a position that only has junior high responsibilities allowing me to have more time with my son and help my parents.

I grew up in Irving and my parents still live there so I will be closer to them as well. This is a great opportunity for my family and a chance for me to hopefully make a positive difference for the students at my new school.

However, I do have mixed emotions. I have been a director in Kennedale for 11 years. I have taught siblings, watched the band program grow, met some wonderful people, and made so many memories. It was very hard for me to make this decision and I will miss everyone so much because I have felt that we were a family. I am planning to commute this first year so I will still be living in the area. Who knows? You might still see me walking my dog by the high school….lol. Guess Mr. Oktay will have to find someone else to take over my title as ?Still here Romano? or ?the Crazy Lady?.
?
Thanks to each of you for your support in the past, the memories I will take with me and allowing me the privilege to teach your children. Please tell your children how much I miss them, believe in them, will always think of them as my band babies no matter how old they get, and would love to hear from them about all their upcoming successes.
